This Privacy Policy explains how LFG Digital LLC (“FishXP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the FishXP mobile application, fish-xp.com, and related services.

Information we collect

Account and profile information. We may collect your email address, display name, profile information, account identifier, avatar, preferences, and authentication records.

Catch and gameplay information. We collect fish species, measurements, catch date and time, scores, XP, levels, FishDex progress, badges, quests, streaks, tournament entries, leaderboard results, mascot unlocks, and catch history.

Photos and camera information. When you choose to photograph or upload a catch, we receive the selected image and associated information needed to identify, verify, score, store, or share the catch. FishXP only accesses the camera or photo library after you grant permission.

Location information. If you grant location access, FishXP may collect precise coordinates and derive a broader region for catch verification, regional challenges, and relevant game experiences. Exact fishing locations are treated as private account data and are not intentionally displayed publicly. Public features should use a generalized region rather than an exact fishing spot.

Device and service information. We may receive device type, operating-system version, app version, IP address, authentication and security events, performance information, and diagnostic data needed to operate and protect FishXP.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; save catches across devices; identify fish; calculate scores and XP; update collections and progression; operate quests, tournaments, leaderboards, and rewards; produce shareable catch cards; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; improve FishXP; and comply with legal obligations.

AI-assisted fish identification

When you request AI fish identification, the selected catch image and necessary request data may be processed by our artificial-intelligence service provider. The result is an estimate and may be inaccurate. You should review and correct the suggested species before submitting a catch. We do not use your exact fishing coordinates to identify the fish unless a future feature clearly explains that use and obtains appropriate permission.

Public and shared information

Information you submit to public competitions, leaderboards, share cards, or the Wall of Shame may be visible to other people. This may include your display name, catch photo, generalized region, fish details, score, achievements, and ranking. Wall of Shame participation is enabled by default and can be disabled in your profile settings. Exact catch coordinates remain private and should not appear in public content.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate FishXP, including Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage; OpenAI for AI-assisted fish identification; Resend and related email infrastructure for account email; Apple for iOS distribution and device services; and our WordPress hosting providers for fish-xp.com. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.

Data retention and deletion

We retain account data while your account is active and as needed to provide FishXP. Some security, transaction, or legal records may be retained for a limited period when required by law or legitimate operational needs. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify the account and associated personal data, subject to legally required retention and reasonable backup cycles.

Your choices and rights

You can decline camera, photo-library, or location permissions in iOS settings, although related features may not work. You can edit profile information, opt out of the Wall of Shame, and delete your FishXP account from inside the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. Contact us to exercise a right.

Children’s privacy

FishXP is not directed to children below the minimum age required to consent to online services in their location. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot legally provide consent. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information should contact us.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. FishXP’s service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable protections.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FishXP evolves. We will post the revised date here and provide additional notice when required.
